It seems like my belly popped out overnight. One day I could button my jeans and the next I was in maternity jeans.
My parents were nice enough to let us use a credit for Alaska airlines that was going to expire. So Jake and I decided to use this opportunity to go somewhere that we have never gone before...Seattle. We spent the weekend there and had a great time. We were really lucky with the weather, and we only got a little rain and a little snow. We did a ton of walking and eating :) Seattle has so many awesome restaurants that were in walking distance from our hotel. We took the underground tour and learned a lot about the history of Seattle. I would suggest this tour to anyone. It was really interesting and the tour guide was hilarious. It was really nice to get away, beause who knows when we are going to be able to get another weekend alone after the baby comes.
We had our 19 week doctor's appointment on Monday 2/2/09. We had our first ultrasound and we found out that we are having a boy! We are both so excited. I have to admit I was really surprised. This whole time I was convinced that it was going to be a girl. But I could not be happier! The ultrasound was amazing. Jake and I got to watch the baby move around for about a half an hour. We saw him open and close his mouth and eyelids. We even watched as he kicked me right in the bladder :) While we watched, the tech was measuring the babies bones and organs to make sure that everything looked good. The doctor said that he is coming along great, and that he is perfectly healthy. Now we just have to give this little boy a name. Hopefully we will decide soon. We have narrowed it down to a couple of choices so it shouldn't be long. It is hard to tell what this picture is so I will explain a little. It is a picture of his profile. You can see his head to the left and up above that is his hand. Down to the right is his little foot kicking away.
